recently became interested in guns. found this site looking for a place to shoot near Hammond. my wife and i love Honey Island around Pearl River, but would like something closer to Ponchatoula.

i have recently joined the NRA and the Libertarian party hoping to meet people that share some of my interest. i don't think we can afford to sit on the sidelines anymore.....time to get involved and make a difference before it is too late. hoping to become active in NRA as time will allow. work keeps me busy.

i have a Mossberg 500 Persuader (love that name), DPMS Oracle and some handguns. my wife has a Glock 19 gen 4, i have a S&W 325 TR and a S&W 686 plus.....my wife claims it is hers. i like that we both enjoy shooting. she doesn't care for the pump or rifle, but sure likes the pistols.

guess we will try Bass Pro today to see how it is. I will let you know later.

well thx. good to see the forum is active. in reference to my original post above we skipped Bass Pro and went to Precision Firearms in BR instead. We liked it. I would recommend. And one more thing....ladies shoot for free on Wednesdays. :-)

    Welcome to the group neighbor.
The forum has been slow lately, should pick up some with hunting on the horizon.
The Amite range is open to the public on certain days, check their web page.
