Hello,
Yep that's right from Canada - came across your forum through Milsurps and thought I'd check it out. My name is David McKenna and I hail from St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.
Here goes - I'm here to confess an addiction to milsurp (ah crap#~< - in denial again) to rifles in general. My milsurp collection consists of -
I have spent quite a bit of time down south of New Orleans around Port Sulphur and Venice - hunting ducks on the Delta and fishing on Grande Bayou. I have a good friend in Belle Chasse that I swap hunts with up here on the Canadian prairies.
Anyways I'm always interested in the happenings down south so I hope to share some knowledge regarding guns, some stories and possibly some parts and pieces.
My milsurp collection consists of-
1908 Norwegian Krag- M/1907 Artillery Carbine 6.5x55mm
1944 RC K98
1942 Lee Enfield No 4 MK I
1929 Mosin Nagant 1891/30 hex receiver
1941 Mosin Nagant 1891/30 round receiver
1943 Mosin Nagant 1891/30 Sniper rifle
1942 STOKAREV SVT 40
1942 Schmidt- Rueben K31
1947 Schmidt- Rueben K31
1952 Tula SKS - laminate
1954 Izzy SKS - wood
1941 Lee Enfield No 1 MK III currently sporterized but I have a stock set in transit to resurrect this particular rifle.
Also some hunting rifles that I'm refinishing like Winchester model 94 30/30, a Ruger 10/22, Remington 308 and 270 and a pile of shotguns as I am an avid waterfowl hunter and I also like to hunt elk and venison when the freezer gets low. Did I say I like to shoot all these? Next step is reloading my own cartridges but not there yet.
And finally I've fallen off the wagon and I have started a multitude of rebuilds/restorations of a number of Lee Enfield's No 1 and 4
My Lee Enfield No 4 MK III - non matching but a great shooter -
Open sights at 100yds
That's it, glad to be here.
Kind regards,
Dave
