Gun Ho Friday Night Plate Match
05/20/2011
We had another great Friday night turn out. There was some very tight competition in the A and B classes. EVERYONE was on their game last night. I shot a 2.84 second run only to be beat by Todd Besnard with a 2.77 second pass. It was so close no one but the timer knew who won the run. Tom and Gerwin battled it out all night both putting up great times.
Lets take this chance for a few rule clarifications.
First Safety.
I AM THE MATCH MASTER THE BUCK STOPS WITH ME AND ME ALONE.
If there is a question or concern by any competitor or Range Officer it comes to me. This is MY match and any issue no matter how great or small should come directly to me at the time of incident or concern. If you don’t here it from my lips its not gospel.
Now time for some rule clarifications
On the unload and show clear command it is the shooters reasonability to make sure your gun is clear not the Range Officer. Let me repeat this IT IS THE SHOOTERS RESPONABILTY TO MAKE CERTAIN YOUR PISTOL IS CLEAR!!!!!!! WE can not see your chamber. If your gun discharges on the hammer down portion of the command you will be disqualified. NO MATTER WHERE IT IMPACTS. A second offense to this will earn the shooter a 4 week suspension from competition and 3rd will result in a permanent suspension. We strive to provide a 100% safe arena for our competitors and will take a ZERO tolerance policy toward safety violations.
Other things of note shooters watch your muzzles. I know the D class shooters are new to this and we will call you on muzzle violations. Don’t take it personal.
Class Changes.
Here it is written in stone!
How you move from one class to the other.
1) If you win your class and 50% of your fastest times are at least one class above you will be moved to next class above on your next shoot.
a. Exmp. Scott long moved from the C class to the B class this week
Scott had 14 times after throwing out his slowest 7 runs his 7 fastest times avg 3.49 for the night scott not only had a B class avg for the night but also placed first in the c class. Next week he will be shooting in the B class.
2) If you place 2nd or 3rd in your class and have 50% avg for the next class two weeks out of 4 weeks.
3) Your monthly Avg given you have shot at least 3 out of the 4 shoots for the month is the next class above,
The vast majority of shooters will never have to deal with rule 2 or 3. Every now and then it may happen in the C class. Most of the time you will be moved up on a class win with a higher than class avg. Rule two and three is going to really be for A/Master and Grand Master.
OK enough of that. time for the Scores
