OK, light tin foil here but.........what does this mean? I'm going to remember those words and look for them next week when things heat up.

Your focus should be on strengthening mental health care and improving the quality of data supporting NICs checks

It's probably nothing. That said, it bears remembering next week.

I was referring to Ruger having a form on their site promoting gun rights when old Bill Ruger is the one who said, "The best way to address the firepower concern is therefore not to try to outlaw or license many millions of older and perfectly legitimate firearms (which would be a licensing effort of staggering proportions) but to prohibit the possession of high capacity magazines. By a simple, complete and unequivocal ban on large capacity magazines, all the difficulty of defining 'assault rifle' and 'semi-automatic rifles' is eliminated. The large capacity magazine itself, separate or attached to the firearm, becomes the prohibited item. A single amendment to Federal firearms laws could effectively implement these objectives."

And yes, I know Bill Ruger is "no longer with the company".

That's what drew me to this thread in the first place and made me scrutinize the language. And you're right, we can only hold it against them for so long. Still, I'm waiting and watching for the wording:

improving the quality of data supporting NICs checks

to show up in legislation next week that justifies universal background checks and national registration. THEN! Then we will know Ruger screwed us again!!! Or maybe I just need to loosen my tinfoil underwear.

NEWS ALERT! Bill Ruger is dead.

Managers of Ruger now are very pro-gun.

Living in the past and hating someone who has been dead for more than a decade is unhealthy and prevents a clear understanding of what is happening now.

This was a gutsy move for a publicly-traded company. Submarine commanders tend to be quiet but decisive.

I remember vividly when Ruger screwed us the first time. I've sworn them off ever since.
