In my experience, once you've won an auction, the buyer will contact you no more than a day later and inform you of your payment options etc. If they don't then send them a Message via GunBroker in the auction summary. I haven't had any problems and I've done about 20 (not 20 guns, mostly accessories) or so buys and a couple of sales on there.

Pretty much this... I'll add that it's a pretty safe venture, considering there is a feedback system in place. The only people I tend not to do business with are the ones with no feedback (NR)

I just bought a pistol off of GB. I won. I had FFL send his info. I got a MO and mailed it. He sends the gun to my FFL and then they transfer it to me. My only issue is that when I buy something I want instant gratification and the process isn't set up that way but I did get a good deal.

Pretty much what these guys have said and I to look at the (RATING), next to the sellers name. I bought and sold on GunBroker and only been burned once. The reason I got burned is because the seller decided to take a chance and list a Noveske with a starting bid of $.01 with no reserve. His auction ended with me being the high bidder at $800 and he didn't come through on his end of the deal. He claims he sold it locally and he did make a post on the GB thread within the 15min countdown because he knew he wasn't going to get what it was worth. Stay away from auctions that state the firearm is being sold locally and they reserve the right to end the auction whenever.

Good luck and PM me if you need any more advice.

Just purchased my first pistol off gunbroker last week, got tracking information on Friday and will have it on Tuesday. Only differences between buying a gun and buying anything else is that the seller needs to hear from your local FFL and you pick up your purchase there. I was a little nervous about it but so far its been very easy.

I've only purchased specialty ammo, that I couldn't find locally, and I've not had a single problem. I'm in the market for a new handgun, and after looking as far away as B.R. and not finding what I want, Gunbroker is the only place that I've been able to locate them.

Gunbroker can be useful to buy things that are hard to find locally. Be careful though because gunbroker will not help you much in a dispute. For example, a seller once guaranteed me a 3 day inspection period but when I got the gun, which was misrepresented, I asked to return it the same day and the seller refused out right. Gunbroker said they would look into my claim but it's almost a year later and they haven't done anything.
