Well today I noticed my xd was having a slight malfunction. If you pulled the trigger all the way without the grip safety pushed in it would not fire but if you let off the trigger all you had to do was push in the grip safety and it would drop the firing pin. Springfield customer service was first class. The lady said they wanted it back to go over it and within a few minutes of our conversion I had emails for instructions to send it in and a shipping label. No questions at all. Might be a fluke with mine but y'all might want to check your d's and make sure they don't do the same. And yes my xd was completely stock.

That's a, eh... pretty big mishap. Involved directly with the main (pointless) feature that so many people have a problem with on the platform.

Isolated incident or not, you better expect it to get some attention. :dunno:

I'd pin that grip safety like a 1911, were I to own one.

I have yet to read about ONE manufacturer that has a perfect record.

Wait a minute...I thought you said that Bersas never fail? :D

    Just kidding...

Anything mechanical can fail, just some are more prone to failure than others...Just so happens that the Springfield has an unnecessary part - grip safety - that adds another part to the pistol that can fail...

What bothers me is how it's failing. Thats not a small glitch. It's something that could get someone shot. But yes all brands have had issues and I'm sure they will fix it right up for you. Just please don't play with the safety around me. :chuckles:

Good luck, I hope they get everything lined out for you.

I have never owned a 100% reliable firearm. Some are a lot better than others, but they have all had a problem or two. Maybe not a failure, but a problem still. I am hoping to pick up an XD this weekend unless I can find a CZ.
