Hammer Drill

Does anyone in the Laplace/New Orleans Area have a rotary hammer drill I could borrow to drill 3 small holes in my slab to secure something down.

Home depot rents them. I don't think its expensive at all.

Yes it is expensive. For 3 small holes it would cost 55.00 plus deposit.

Most quality cordless drills have a hammer function setting on the clutch. One of your neighbors may have one. May have to run to the hardware store for a masonry bit though.

Check harbor freight. I got a big sds there a couple years ago on sale and with the 20% coupon it was under $50 and comes with 3-4 bits and a chisel. For the $$, it is a very good drill. I actually used it in my business for driving 2' tent stakes in the ground with a homemade bit for a while.
Sounds like a good opportunity/ excuse to get a new tool to me!
