Yeah the Range Officer does look appealing.

I checked out Cabelas online. Doesnt seem to have anything i want. So i will probably not go and just keep searching locally.

I love the help yall are giving!

I actually was going to get the Range Officer until a 9mm Trojan came along I couldnt pass up. It seems to be a pretty solid gun with good potential.

Yeah it seems like a great gun for what I want. It will probably be what I get. However if something local comes up worth my money, it's mine :)

Faster I get one, faster I can take my CC class :)

The STI Spartan will fit your needs. And only cost about half of what you said your limit is. The trigger parts are top quality and any decent smith can get the trigger pull where you want it. The Smith and Alexander magwell/mainspring housing will be hard to beat.

My Spartan was super tight when I got it and still is after 5000+ rounds. When I get a gun, I "shoot it like I stole it". I don't have any safe queens. Have 2 STI's now and having a third built right now. STI backs their products and they support the shooting sports.

Called them today, guess they were closed. Oh well, they lost a gun sale today, went to Academy and bought me a new glock :)

I shall see when it's time to fork over the money to get a 1911. I will check them out for sure.

Done a lot of research' I bought a RCS 1911 Sig. Officer frame and commander slide. Awesome gun! 2 inch groups at 10 yards. And I'm the average Joe! Can't beat a 1911 and add Magsafe swat loads and you have a one hell of a self defense weapon. I walk around with a smile on my face-no one knows what I'm carrying.
