A friend of mine is having a problem.

He says "I have a stainless steel 270 w/ black stock (savage). I want to dull the glare but not sure what would be the best. Any idea? Paint?"

I'll take all the suggestions I can get and pass them on to him.
    Thanks

Coat stainless steel? That'll work. But you could have it bead blasted too. That'll give it a battleship type grey appearance.

He can have it blasted with aluminum oxide to dull the finish. If it's less than a 26" barreled action, I can do it for $45.

Bead blasting would be my choice on stainless. That way you could always return it to its shine should you want to.

blast it !! I would blast it anyway before I coated it anyways..... otherwise you can use camo tape or camo rifle wrap tape for those special occaissons..... krylon spray paint in an emergency.... it's reversible too but messy to remove.

depends on what you want to do.
