Helping a friend. I think this is the M961XM07 ? first is the model number correct.
Next, is installing a Cree or better led ?
Do you do anything with the batteries as well.

I was searching here a few weeks back, and I though I remembered finding a really detailed
thread on what bulbs to use and what batteries to use ?

Can someone send me a link? does anyone have parts for sale?

I would recommend Streamlight. 1/4 the price of the Surefires, just as bright, arguably as dependable, and if you somehow manage to break it you still have the other 3/4 of the money to get a new one :) I have five Streamlightsand and have had no problems with any of them :)

Vince: Model # is correct. Your friend can change lamp assemblies. LED will get him additional run time. Surefire has two assemblies, or did, for the weapon light. One had 225 lumens and the other was 125?

Be cheap for once in your life and buy a new streamlight.

Agreed. I played with my lights a little last night and they seem like they could go through hell and back and still work.

    U guys are killin me.
    Soooooo,
Before I attempt to shoot a bullet through the empty housing, the mechanic in me sees a battery holder thats holds 3 batteries [ at least 9v without any
modifications ] with an on/off switch.
Then a light housing that I should be able to install one of the latest Cree superbright lamps.

Now I realize overall the size is Huge compared to what's available, but it could always be used as a truck light ?
