I'm in South Louisiana and just found this site when I was googling some info about ammo.I just got my first handgun- a Springfield XDM compact 9mm. This one is now my home protection. I have 2 young sons and a husband who is offshore a lot.
It was time to get something that helped me feel more confident that I can protect us and I'm so glad I got the XDM. I seriously love it. I look forward to learning a lot from y'all!

Welcome! Good solid choice for a first gun. I suggest finding an instructor and take a class or two. I know there are a couple on the site here that I have heard good things about.
