High Power Service Comp

I got it in my head to try some High Power Service Rifle competitions through NRA/CMP but not sure if it's really a viable sport in southern La. Anyone here compete on a regular basis, have tips, pointers, and info on when and where? Currently just have a non NM a2 but I figure it's good enough just to start out.

Finally made it out to Palo Alto this past weekend for their Pearl Harbor Memorial Shoot. Approx 30 people showed. Good times, I enjoyed it. We only shot from the 200 yard line but from what I saw of the place, it's a pretty nice setup and the people were friendly and helpful.

I've participated in a few 600 yard F-class competitions at Palo Alto....good fun! Just wish I had some free time to get down there more often.
