    Awful 48 hours for the Saints community.

    So sad to hear, he was a good guy. Very professional on the field and in his commentary; always had good things to say about the players. May God bless him and his family. He will be missed.

    Damn damn damn....this is very hard for anybody who has any feelings for New Orleans and the Saints..I thought there was a glimmer of hope with all of the fundraising festivals happening for him. He was an inspiration to many an aspiring football player growing up in NOLA, myself being one of them. RIP Hokie...damn again. Losing two prominent leaders of the Saints is down right depressing-both too young to be gone. I feel for my hometown now.....

    I had the opportunity to meet Hokie several times over the last several years both at public events and in private.He was always super friendly and great to talk to, a humble guy and just a down home good dude. God bless him and his family.

    Funniest quip by Hokie during a Saints broadcast ever:

    Looking at the replay and describing a holding call;

    "Yep, you can see the defender starting to get to the outside and Terron puts the crab claws on him!"

    My favorite Hokie moment happened several years ago. He and Kenny Wilkerson were talking about salary negotiations and Kenny said, "Okay Hokie, let's say you're the agent." Before Kenny could say another word or before anyone could hit the delay, Hokie replied, "Why do I have to be the a@#hole?"

    It was hilarious.

    Godspeed, Hoke!
