100k an acre in Youngsville or 100k for .4 acre in Lafayette. It’s getting stupid. And here we are trying to determine if we’re going to build a new house. No greater feeling than selling high and paying the premium lol

Damn thats high. Does that include all utilities to the property?
In Lafayette and Youngsville yes. Both scenarios I’m talking about are in neighborhoods. And then there’s the outlier that’s 200k for .5 acre in some giant ass neighborhood full of mini mansions

My fiance and I are looking for a rural spot with a couple+ acres -45mins from Woman's Hospital on Airline, east of the river, but there is pretty slim pickings within our budget.

Land is still going up but it's starting to sell a bit slower. Since 2020 most real "gems" have sold on the same day they were listed, or before, all around the country and especially in the south.

From our experience last year, buying land anywhere is competitive and a race against time. We lost out on several pieces until we figured out the process. You have to have your money or financing in hand and go at it like's it a job.

The 2 remaining .25 acre lots in my subdivision in Walker are $40,000 each.
