I practice at all of them. Due to my tremor, accuracy at 25yds suffers. Plus if I'm practicing with a stiff trigger I'll tremor snatch it occasionally which further wrecks accuracy.

Here's some motivation Monday for the folks who don't shoot at distance.

    It was.

Sadly, it was not me. I do shoot in the low 90's at 25 yards though. Ask Austin.

Which sadly is not how I shoot at 25 yards, LOL. I managed to barely get in the low 80s :/ But that opened my eyes to the fact that I need to practice groupings at 25 yards and not just hitting a person-sized target.

    100 yards?

    With your carry gun?

I’ve been doing hundred yard drills ever sense I started carrying my Model of 1911 in 82 as my duty weapon when I wore a badge. I carry a 45acp for protection, but I have had the opportunity to take a Coyote from off the back of my tractor and dispatch a deer year before (Jan 4 2015). The Coyote was about 250 ft. It stood there a second too long. The deer was wounded from a bad shot from my 308 Ar10a2 Carbine, I pulled shot high. Had to chase down the deer and take it out with my 1911. First shot hit base of right antler knocking it off, second shot put in the back of the deer’s head; one hundred twenty foot shot. Now I carry a SAR K2-45 as my side arm. I went from a 7+1 to a 14+1 handgun, but stayed with a 45acp. I shot Win 230gr Hp. For one hundred yds shots it takes a 2 ½ inch rise on the front sight and lob them in.

First picture is where I hit this deer with the 308; Hit high on the backbone behind the shoulders.

Second picture: retrieved right antler lying on deer’s side.

Third picture; Bad picture but you can see blood coming out from the back of the deer’s head behind the missing Antler.

Fourth picture you can see where some brain cavity bone exited forward of the right eye.

That’s why I train shooting a hundred yds.
