How long for state?

I sent in the state paperwork for my SBR last week of January, but haven't heard anything back yet. How long should that take?

In my experience anywhere from 1-3 months, lately it's been slower.

I was going to do it as you are (buying a built SBR upper, but I may just make mine myself so I can do it under a form one. It should be quicker.... In theory.

I filed one in September and I think it took over a month, but I am not 100%. I just sent it in and forgot about it. With the amount of time the ATF takes, I figured stressing over the timeline was dumb. I am still waiting for ATF approval; I haven't bothered to check on the status yet.

your stamp should be coming in any day now. i had one that went Pending in July and I got it back the second week of January.

About a year ago I want to say mine went between 1-2 weeks door to door.
It's ridiculus for this to take a month or more; we need to get the bs law changed.
It's just a muffler, not a WMD.

Don't you have to wait for the state forms to send in copies to the ATF? Am I doing this wrong?

some people send both off at same time, then mail/fax state paperwork to atf when it arrives. I prefer so send a complete package to atf, but I'm a little ocd.

Yes wait or your packet will be rejected. This wasn't always the case but the ATF has now required a complete packet for at least the last 8months. It helps them become more efficient

I did not turn in state and federal at the same time. I may have been unclear. I bought a suppressor on September 9th, the last day of the tax free weekend, from Derek at BBA. We had to mail some paperwork back and forth, so I am guessing the forms didn't actually get to the state for at least 2 weeks. I have the approval form sitting on my desk. It was signed off on December 16. So my guess is 10 weeks for approval. It may have taken more than 2 weeks to get off to the state, I was kind of slow about it. I have a trust, but am not sure if that speeds up the state, or only federal approval.

You can get the sign off, but before you send your packet to the ATF, get the State Registration forms approved and sent with the rest

Wtf? I'm almost at 2 months. Mailed it in.
