Last night while watching the Outdoor Channel a "Cowboy" was interviewing Jessie Abbott. (Jessie is a pretty little lady that shoots for Glock and has won about every Ladies' title out there.) He asked her how many round she shot prior to a major match. She stated that she started shooting two months ahead of the match and shot 500 to a 1000 each day. WOW! No wonder she is on top. (I'm sure Glock is paying the bill)
I read an article a few years ago about Todd Jarrett. He got laid off from his job and came home and told his wife if he didn't work for a year and could shoot everyday, he could become a professional shooter. His wife agreed and he started shooting. He would go and shoot in the morning, come home to reload, then back to the range to shoot, then home to reload for the next morning. He shot 95,000 rounds that year in practice. He won his first big match after that and now is one of the top shooters in the country.
So if you've been slacking, shooting 25K to 50K a year...get off your butt and go shoot.
