If you are planning on being somewhat stationary we used one of these water filters for our camp when I was in Mongolia. It filtered enough water for about 30 people for two months while we were there without a hiccup. It was running river water though and we didn't have to do anything to de-silt it. I have one of their portable filters for when I'm backpacking and it hooks right into a nalgene or into an easily modified camelbak.
Dunno about 30's, but you can get 55 gallon plastic drums at the place in Prairieville. Can be seen from interstate. Drum and wire rope specialists maybe. Get to it off hwy 73 in area of condos just east of i10.
