Hello everyone,
I'm a 39 year old firearms historian and IT guy currently living in Raleigh, North Carolina. My wife and I will be moving to Louisiana in a few years and I figured it was time to get acquainted with the local shooting community.
I'm currently finishing my history degree at North Carolina State University, and my thesis is on the growth of the American firearms industry in the 1850's and 1860's. Of particular interest is Rollin White's patent and the many companies that circumvented (or outright violated) the patent. I've been working on my research for over a year now and hope to defend my thesis in November of 2015. It's been a ton of fun and I've met some great people, and I'm hoping to publish my work when it's done.
I also enjoy target shooting and have done some competing at the local level. And, as my name implies, I also enjoy reloading and casting my own bullets.
I'd love to hear from other members--especially those with an interest in antique spur-trigger firearms!
