Hunters safety course

Looking for a hunters safety course in the Slidell area honey island range has info posted but when I called academy to confirm if the classes were being held in June as the website has posted.... and was informed academy is no longer having the class at the Slidell and Covington stores. Anyone know of anything in the Slidell area?

Not sure if you can still do it but you used to be able to do the online training guide and also take the online test, once you would get your certificate you would only have to schedulle your field day to be done.

bass pro offers a 1 day class.

Strange. Honey Island recently released the 2011 Hunter Ed calendar and it includes the classes at Academy Sports. I just sent an email to the guy who oversees the Hunter Ed program at Honey Island. I will let you know whet he says.

I took mine there, we shot bb guns for the shooting portion with the lovely bouncing target holders. lol I took the test online pretty straight forward didnt even read the material and scored a 88 all using common sense and gun knowledge I already knew.

He confirmed that Academy will no longer host the classes. They are still trying to find a new location. If anything changes, I will update this post.
