Hunting near Lafayette??

looking for 4 legged game near (or resonable drive) Lafayette.

Would be nice to find some hogs.... although not real sure on local laws for them in these parts (help!!) as they are not real hard to hunt and easy exposure for family hunts. (read: less difficult than deer).

I don't know much about hunting hogs, but deer can be real tough if you are trying public land like Sherburne WMA or Indian Bayou which are both close to Lafayette. Head over to www.bayoubucks.com/forum They have a hog hunting section and are glad to help out.
