I've been through 3 different Otterbox Defenders. Never again.

I agree. I've been through 3 myself. They will replace them but it's alot of crap. Go with the GRIFFIN. It's water resistant, a lot more durable, and it looks better too!!!!

I've had 2 different otter boxes and I was always hitting the mute button while talking on the phone. The screen wouldn't go black when it was up to my face. I now use the magpul case for everyday use. I only use the otter box if I'm fishing or out in the woods.

currently using the magpul field case for my 4s, my brother has one for his 4 also. Won't protect as well as the otterbox defender but also isn't as bulky.

Check out the Ballistic HC .....some think it's better than the Otterbox.....I can be used without the extra thick rubber cover...

It comes with an adaptor that provides an extension.

I have a set of Motorola Bluetooth headphones I use so I don't use the adaptor.

Magpul is what I recommend. Maybe not as much protection as the extreme otterboxes, but those things are way too overdone for me. I have the Magpul Executive on an iphone 4 and it's perfect for the way I carry my phone. I'm about to order one for my wife's phone, too.

LIFEPROOF - Just bought mine from Best Buy on Bluebonnet. They don't keep them next to the other cases. You might have to ask for help in order to find them.

Ive gone from the otterbox defender, to the lifeproof, and now the otterbox commuter. The defender was just too bulky, and i couldnt live with the muffled volume of the lifeproof. I finally settled on the Livestrong version of the commuter as it has a smooth back without the apple logo porthole. It offered adequate protection in a slim and atractive package. I tried out the magpul and oakley cases, and while they are nice looking, they only offer protection from scratches without much drop protection, which is my main concern.

We agree again. I have thinner adapters. I will now use only them. My car charger has a large head and that is what cracked it...
