    Guy claims it's a 2 inch 1924-25 Colt army special 38 revolver

    Dooooon't think so.
    SN: 503xxx

Looks alot like an Officers Model Special/Match, but I'm not a 'Colt guy'

    One of you who is.....?

(I asked him about markings... Waiting)

I'll look it up in a minute to be sure. It's hard to tell anything from that image. But unless that's a newer barrel the front site is totally wrong for a 1924. I'm thinking a Colt Trooper pre-MKIII.

What ever it is should be engraved in the left side of barrel. He can't read it to you?

The rear site matches an Officer's model.

Those front sites don't match the Army Special.

If it IS an Officers model, the serial # dates it to 1924

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a mid 60's model Colt Trooper. But like I said it would be stamped as such on the barrel. The side on the bottom in the photo.

Guy's got it for sale and doesn't seem to know much.
I asked what was on the barrel, all he said was:
You can only see a couple patent dates on the barrel 1889 and 1905 the front site covers up most of it.

    80% etc asking $390...

I was gonna see how low I could offer, but I think I'll just walk.

That tells me that it's got a non original barrel....
