Just a thought - If Solder can be "lead free" with a composition of 95% tin (Sn) & 5% Antimony (Sb) could this be used for bullet manufacture? Seems to be a soft enough composition and is pretty easy to melt. I don't know about the density properties and trajectory issues.......but steel shot has been used for a good while now and I've found it to be pretty accurate. I don't know - just throwing it out there.....

I think winchester was doing that a while back in some 22LR. It was possibly marketed to Kalifornians that are under harsher restrictions?

I think tin is about 5 times more expensive than lead too making it not very cost efficient.

Not only is Tin much more expensive than lead, it also weighs considerably less for a given volume which would lead to reduced terminal performance at long range. Then if you make the bullet longer to get the weight of the projectile up, you could run into issues of rifling twist deficiency leading to a loss of accuracy. All of this can be resolved with alterations to your firearms as the technology advances but all at a very high cost.

Well that proverbial shoots that idea all to hell!!! hahaha. Well, they'll be a black market for lead, just like every other material or object they place restrictions on.

EPA closes a smelter that makes a product that has nothing to do with shooting = anti gun Obama conspiracy

Romney signs AWB = republican candidate against gun grabber

It's like republicans have become emo girls who cut their arms to make themselves feel better. Not sure if I should laugh or cry.

I gave up and left the republican party after Mitten's pathetic run at the White House.
