I have a Franchi 12 ga. semi-auto. It shoots perfectly, with only a little problem processing cheap steel. However, I cannot "unload" the gun, if that makes sense. I can eject the first shell from the barrel, but the gun won't move the second shell up to the chamber to be ejected.

Any thoughts on what mechanically should be causing this, should I just bring it to another gunsmith?

    thanks

Are we talking about an Al 48? If so there is nothing wrong with it, you unload the magazine from the bottom.

It's an AL-48. Or looks just like one. I live in Baton Rouge and took it to Jim's Firearms. It's puzzling. We took it apart at Bowie's the other day and nothing appears to be wrong.

It has the Luigi Franchi Brescia made in italy markings on it.
I believe it's recoil operated. I inherited this gun from my 90 year old grandpa, so maybe I'm just missing it operationally.

That's what I figured. I just figured it out. There is a lever on the inside of the chamber that ejects them from the bottom.

I am the king of the idiots, BUT Bowie's OR Jims should have known.
