jld Ptr-91 .308

I am looking for anyone that has extensive knowledge on the ptr-91 made by jld. i have been doing a lot of research and heard varying accounts on different serial numbers being good or bad. the one i am looking at is one of the very first ones made. Serial # A005*. Any information would be helpful. thank you

Everything I have read indicates that the JLD builds were high quality, reliable builds. After the company became PTR Inc. there were some problems, in the 2008-2010 period, when they switched barrels and the new vendor did not cut the chamber flutes to HK spec, resulting in bad extraction and ejection issues. PTR included an instruction manual which had a list of ammunition to avoid, mainly being military surpus which was tar-sealed.

I had one in that serial number range. It ran perfect for me.

Thanks for the quick replies. I've heard the first few hundred had problems by jld and was worried. Especially considering this was one of the first 60.
