Can you say " over kill "

    WOW !!!

MARRERO, La. (AP) - The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left a 58-year-old man dead in front of a Marrero home.

Sheriff Newell Normand says the victim was identified as Emeal Washington.

A witness says Washington had just walked to his car at about 2 a.m. Monday to get a cigarette when three men - two wearing dark clothing and hoodies - walked toward him. The witness says he yelled to Washington to run but the gunman fired, striking Washington multiple times.

Normand says investigators found 81 spent shell casings at the scene from various caliber of weapons.

There are no known suspects at the moment and investigators haven't determined

A few years back (within last 5 to 10 years) a "fugitive" from Texas was surrounded (as in a circle) while sitting in his vehicle by 15 or more Rapides Parish Deputies, Alexandria City Police, and yes, Louisiana State Police. While he was still sitting in his vehicle, apparently one of the members of the "surrounding party" thought that he may being going for a gun when he made a movement with his arm. Yes, they opened fire with some 85 Plus rounds and actually hit him 7 times, killing him. Yes, the Super One Food Store and the adjacent Brown Furniture Company building were hit by the stray gunfire, breaking some windows, destroying a sign, and riddled up the exterior plaster walls with bullet holes.:eek4:

The Best Part....The Sheriff released a statement the next day, saying that his department would be taking care of the repairs to the two businesses.
