thinking about getting a 10mm barrel for my glock 21 wondering if anyone has done this? if you did what company did you go with im thinking kkm but dont know?
I've seen (in videos and pictures) a factory 10mm working just fine in a G21 slide, with reasonably impressive accuracy given the circumstances. That said, I'd still go with the conversion anyway, for peace of mind.
The slide on the 21 is lighter by something like an ounce, IIRC. Translates into more perceived recoil, according to those "in the know". A lot of them have gone with aftermarket guide rods and sprung it up a little bit. I think people preferred 21 or 22 pounds-- I'd have to double check and ask someone. (You can take a factory guide rod and re-spring it, but it can be a PITA and probably not worth the time and effort.)
Despite the fact that the extractor and plunger spring are different, they are supposed to perform just as reliably as you'd expect out of any Glock. If you wanted to get super-tech, they aren't hard or time consuming to swap, or difficult/expensive to come by.
Plus, of course, you'll need the proper mags. I'm not certain whether the bodies/followers/springs can be messed with to shoot 10mm, but I've never heard anything about it, so my guess would be... no.
Does anyone other than KKM make that conversion now? I could have sworn LWD quit at some point in the past... StormLake, maybe?
