Well of course she isn't. Did anyone expect her to be?

She's a leftist from New York City. Nuff said.

We knew what to expect from Obama- he has surrounded himself with people like this. Obama will NEVER nominate a moderate for the Supreme Court. NEVER.

Yeah, I have heard she knows what would make first amendment public perception problems and she could rule to protect the public from bad free speech which then wouldn't be free speech. I think she looks a little like the last judge appointed. A very New York court with her lifetime appointment.

From her Q&A linked in that article:

"There is no question, after Heller, that the Second Amendment guarantees Americans the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation."

    Q. If you are confirmed, will you commit to protect an individual’s right to possess a
    firearm?

Answer: If I am confirmed, I will commit to show Heller and the principles
articulated in it the full measure of respect that is due to all constitutional
decisions of the Court. Only highly unusual circumstances can justify the
Solicitor General’s office in asking the Court to reconsider a decision, especially
one as thoroughly considered as Heller. Once again, there is no question, after
Heller, that the Second Amendment guarantees individuals the right to keep and
bear arms and that this right, like others in the Constitution, provides strong
although not unlimited protection against governmental regulation.

I'll take a "not sympathetic" on someone breaking the law as long as they will make the above statements too. Could be worse considering who is doing the nominating.

She also said she stongly believes gov't has the right to regulate it, which means she DOESN'T believe that Heller was the right decision. Typical double-talking liberal....

There must be a special ugly lesbian farm somewhere that these people come from

    From the link
May 13 (Bloomberg) -- Elena Kagan said as a U.S. Supreme Court law clerk in 1987 that she was “not sympathetic” toward a man who contended that his constitutional rights were violated when he was convicted for carrying an unlicensed pistol.

And she's looks like John Belushi.

Funny, but Bernie Goetz was carrying an unlicensed .38 revolver
when he shot the multiple muggers on the NYC subway.

If he hadn't been, he'd very likely be dead.

Just what we need; another anti- Bill of Rights "jurist" on the SCOTUS.

They swear to "uphold and defend", but I haven't seen much of that lately.

    What a shock.

I suspect there is a 90% chance she gets the nod.

Obama has managed to get two young (for scotus) actual socialists onto the highest court in the land. In less than two years.

I'd put those odds at better than 99%.

Would have to be something SPECTACULAR to get her nomination withdrawn at this point. Pics of her in biblical union with an animal type spectacular.

ONLY bright spot is it seems to be a zero sum appointment. Old lib out, new lib in. Still 5-4 for now but if this mook gets re-elected, THEN there are serious troubles brewing for where SCOTUS will lurch.

    Just my .02.
