    In most engineering rankings UK and LSU are generally ranked the same - sadly enough. In the SEC, Florida, Auburn, Vandy and now Texas A&M are the schools to go to for Engineering Degrees. Here the claim to fame is Petro Eng. Having been involved in 4 schools now, I have determined your education is mainly what you make of it. Go to a top tier school and skirt by to get a degree is not the same as going to a mid level school and working your ass off. Now your graduate school hence advising professor choice is another matter. Just to defend my alma mater, I know of two people here who went to graduate school in Sciences and UK said neither would cut it go elsewhere. They came here, graduated, and are generally viewed as poor in there prospective field among their colleagues although neither is an Engineering grad.

    The company I worked for liked to hire chemical engineers from LaTech and MissState.

    It depends entirely on the individual, tho.
