Im looking at picking up a Kimber 1911. The used on im looking at has no box or any paperwork.Under the ejection port is says CLASSIC CUSTOM. It looks just like the CUSTOM II. Is this the earlier version of this gun? Anyone provide any feedback on it? Thx.

This is because they don't have the Swartz Safety System.... I don't remember what they called the external extractor models, but if it doesn't have the Swartz or the external extractor.... I'd probably like it.
Overall though, I don't think Kimbers have the sway they used to.

This. It's just a little bit younger than the one I have (different model as well), but still within the timeframe where they were turning out quality products.
If it's not beat to high Heaven, I'd pick it up and never let it go.
