Actually I might have been thinking of Gambino's. I dunno, I like whichever one makes the pecan or praline or something or other king cake. Or maybe both make one? I dunno.

Ambrosia isn't bad, check out Calandro's too. Around P'ville/Gonzales Ralph's is the place to be.

i am working in lafayette right now so that is not out of the question. thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming as well as seconding earlier posts. picked one up from wal-mart and was not happy (no surprise) so now i'm after the absolute BEST!!!

I remember Meche's from when I lived in Lafayette as a kid. I don't know if it gets any better than that!
