I got this as an email today, in case anyone is interested.

I bought a knife from him, I think, that came with a scratched blade. He insisted the blade wasn't scratched when he packed it. I always ask for the knife to be inspected. He exchanged it w/o comment.

The edge grain micarta banana on vcm. 5.25" closed. I debated for hours on it or the beautiful slim mammoth ivory he has listed. If it's still there in a couple months....

As they say, "You done good!"

Tell Vince I said "Hi." He is really nice to work with.

I already can't wait for more lol

I am a little leery about its size, but it should be thin so may equalize it. I'm sure I'll love it lol

The heaviest knife of his I have is 77g, or ~2.5oz. It's an amber stag swell center jack.

You should be able to trace the package.

Benchmade Griptilian 551 for now. I'd like to get a Benchmade Adamas one day.

That is one sweet slippy.

    Thanks!

Except I was carrying it in my workout pants yesterday under my cold weather jumpsuit. It slipped out of my pocket while driving and down my leg onto asphalt when I got out. Small nicks in the micarta and small nicks in back end steel now *dammit*. Oh well. I carry and use my knives lol

Haha. Too late. Already got davison making one to my liking. I sent Lloyd am email about another, no reply yet though.

You are dealing directly with Todd and John?

I have one of Todd's with a low number, low 200s. I was wondering when he made it and contacted him directly. He replied right away. He has a great reputation.

I buy my Lloyds thru Vince. Haven't requested a custom - yet. No one has stag nicer than John's.

I've seen one done with Kirinite, which can be lovely. Have a couple of CSCs in it.

I can usually buy two of John's for one of Todd's.

Chuck Gedraitis has been very easy to work with but his lead time is over 6mo. One custom of his I have is a copperhead folder with ebony scales and Damascus bolsters.

I did deal directly with todd. I won't say what he's making me yet, but it should be sexy when done. Yes, he was quite a bit more but I like his style.

I don't John and email, but he never replied.

Chuck is very very expensive and, although works of art, I haven't seen anything from him that I just had to have.

I do really like the styles of todd and Johns slippies.

The ones I have from Chuck are in line with what Todd charges, but I don't have the really fancy ones.

Todd has a distinctive style that I really like.
