The north woods were calling so I had to go. 5 friends and I just returned from a five day fishing trip in the Boundary Waters. We were transported by boat with our canoes to the border (17 mile boat ride) then paddled another 6 miles across the border and fished in the Quetico (Canadian Provincial Park ) from Monday to Friday. The weather was crazy as usual and made for some tough fishing. It rained, and the temps dropped to the low 50's. We also had some beautiful days that were picture perfect. The fishing is world class if you like fishing for smallmouth bass, pike, walleye, largemouth, and lake trout. The majority of the fish we catch are bass and pike but we did catch all of the above this time. We ate fresh fish by a roaring fire every night. If you have never been to the Boundary Waters you need to put it on your list. There are thousands of acres of lakes and you don't have to go as far as we did to catch fish and have beautiful scenery. Once you go your view on fresh water fishing will change.
