    First I've heard of this...

"There's a whole suitcase full of loaded AK mags" - one of the LEO says.

Yet not one time did they mention an AK on site.

    Did I miss something?

    Just under that...

Police found more than 20 AR-15 and AR-10-style rifles in the two adjoining rooms Paddock rented on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

Again, not one mention of an AK.

    Then deeper into the article...

"I'm really thinking this is just a one-guy thing," one officer says.

"I hope so, but what about all the other calls, was that just people panicking?" another asks.

i know that the popular opinion and the opinion of the talking heads is that one guy did that. However from what I have read this guy was not an imbecile and only a fool would take 20 AR rifles to a location and then barricade himself in the room. One maybe two rifles, not 20. This whole thing smells like week old fish. I guess we are supposed to be too stupid to figure out that the dude is a modern day oswald.

There are a lot of manufacturers that make AR's which take AK-47 & 74 magazines.

I suppose you've never heard of a New York reload.

I noticed the officer wearing the camera was carrying a Daniel Defense rifle. Must be the preferred rifle in LV. I’ve heard people say the video is all staged. Ever see Oceans Eleven? Not the shooting but the video that was just released months after the fact. Don’t care about all the conspiracies but I still think the powers that be are holding back what, and why the shooting occurred. We are being kept in the dark on this one.

I get that there are a few MFG that make an AR-style rifle (I wouldn't go as far as to say "A LOT") utilizing AK Mags (historically had issues as well except for like the Sig716 or the Mk47 for example)... or even an AK that resembles an AR (m10x, railed up AK, etc.) . It just seemed out of place... I never heard anyone mention a suitcase full of .308 mags for the AR-10. Just an observation.

Now as far as 20 rifles... It was more than likely for redundancy... why waste time clearing a jam? Just pickup another rifle and lay hate.

One of the things I've never really understood though is why have that many rifles... that much ammo... etc., yet at the first sign of the fuzz you eat a bullet with a minimal fight? No stand off? With that many rounds and rifles, those hallway walls should look like swiss-cheese... he seemingly was dug in and had the upper hand (video) and tactical advantage over anyone coming up the hallway.

He had this intricate camera system for what? To know when he had to off himself at the first sign of a LEO? Just perplexing to me.

oh. well yeah- that would make sense. best way to carry spare ammunition is with another gun wrapped around it. I can see that. 20 though? possible, there are still too many questions and not enough answers.

I would like to know why he used a bob the builder hammer to beat out two huge windows and no one on the ground was injured by falling glass or even reported it? Maybe they did but.... why wear yourself out with a hammer when you have that much firepower to defeat the windows?

I've never heard a hammer hit glass and make noise over 100 db.

Did he break the glass then wait 2 hours before shooting, or did he smash it and start spraying?

I'd be more concerned with the gunfire than saying "Is that glass I hear breaking?"

I think the officer seen the surefire 60 and 100 round mags and mistook them for AK mags.

Exactly what I was thinking. Some people would rather believe a whole police dept, casino, and civilians or part of a conspiracy.

I don't honestly think there is any conspiracy on the LEO/Casino's part... I think they are running a CYOA job to the fullest because that Casino doesn't want to get sued by tens of thousands of party go-ers... but aside from that, its a cluster F#$K to scramble and get the facts straight when they don't even know the facts (outside of a dead guy laying on the floor surrounded by 20 rifles and hundreds of magazines)... they don't know motive (other than what the shooters brother has told the media about wanting to inflict revenge on the Casino), but we have no idea the shooters relationship with his brother... they could be enemies and not talked for twenty years for all we know.

Now, in this video... I don't really hear any shots (though they claim its prior to breaching the door)... and with the response time, I could easily see there being more than one shooter that fled prior to LEO arrival (just a thought). Now the only reason I think that, is because of all the videos that are out there where you can clearly hear rounds being fired nearby the cameraman... then seconds later, additional rounds being fired further away. And no, not an echo... the number of rounds is different. Does that mean he couldn't have shot from one window, dropped the rifle and then ran to another window and picked another up and begin firing? Nope. Which given the locations of the windows, it could account for one set of shots sounding farther away. Though he would have had to have been the Flash! lol.

If this is even the case, does it mean that Local LE conspired with the casino to cover it up? Not at all (though having a special phone line to a designated group of LEO just to handle high rollers does complicate things)... but it would be very embarrassing to the department if all this time there was a second shooter and they never even considered it. There are just so many different things that "could have" happened... I mean, maybe a second shooter could have been more of a high-roller than the first shooter???? haha... At this point, we will never know and it is all speculation.

Wouldn't this be a perfect time for a time machine??? Or a Source Code project???? :)

Anytime I’ve been involved in a shooting where masses of people are present there are also ash reports of multiple shooters. The PD in Vegas would have a harder time proving there was only 1 shooter vs multiple as reported. What do they have to gain by only having 1 shooter? The damage is done, lying about 2 shooters doesn’t bring dead people back or make tourism better.

Ummmm... I never said anyone was lying about a second shooter (I said if there WERE one, it would be embarrassing to come out)... I never even said there was a second shooter... Especially considering the PD doesn't even know what they know. They still really don't "Know" anything other than those concert-goers were shot... and that's pretty much it. But fortunately I wasn't there... and my time machine is broken... so we may never know.

The authorities really have a bunch of excuses not to release additional info: money, manpower, the cost of paper; neverending. Did anyone spot any AK mags in photos? The officer that mentioned those may have been excited in the moment. Steve
