lightweight scope for 5.5lb hunting rifle

Got a savage lightweight hunter 5.5 lbs 7mm-08. Its going to be a thick woods rifle, so long range isnt the the key here. What is a quality light weight scope for such a rifle? Opinions?

I've got a Leupold 1.25-5x on a very lightweight Contender carbine. Great scope with a really wide field of view. On 1.25x I can just see the end of the 18" barrel. Only scope I've had that does that.
