I wanted an AK however I don't believe I'll be able to spend that much right now SO I'll try for a lower priced Hunting Rifle with scope if possible. I'd like to spend less than 400. Any Suggestions? I'll be at the Gun Show in Lafayette Sat!

A used savage. Most likely they will not have the accutrigger at that price, but still good guns and recommended for lower budget. Savage 110/111.

I had intended on using my AR this season, but just decided to go with my Marlin 30-30.

+1 on the Savage 110/111 , really can be beat for the price I'd go with 30-06 good range of cartridge options. Good luck with your search.

I agree also look for a nice Savage 110/111 with the accutrigger but a decent one is gonna run you about $400. If your looking for a good cheap rifle, look into the Stevens 200. Its just a rebaged Savage with out the accutrigger. Excellent entry level gun.

If I spend 400 on a Savage ( which is a great gun ) I might just try to go the extra money and get a 700 Remington or Ruger Scout

I have 700 and Savage with accu-trigger, I wouldn't recommend one over the other, except for maybe re sale, where the 700 would probably sell easier.
