Looking to purchase first ar 15

The two models I'm looking at are
1. Stag Arms model 2
2. olympic Arms K 16
I would like your input on what you like most both will be about the same price.

Man that is a TOUGH choice.

Stag Arms has only been around since 2003, so Olympic Arms has them on Time in Service. Olympic Arms Est. 1956 making AR15 since 1987.

From what i know about AR15's and from people I know that own both types.

I'd have to say;

I don't have any experience with Olympic, but I did just build 2 rifles using Stag parts. The fit and finish is excellent. The machining on the trigger is nice and sharp. My stag upper also has excellent fit and finish and as of now I haven't shot it yet.

I say STAG.

Just finished a build with Essential Arms receivers and couldn't be happier. Also have a DPMS and a Bushmaster. All are good quality.

Umm olympic arms is known for putting out rifles, while on the other hand stag is known for putting out good rifles.

Stag beats the hell out of oly arms, oly arms is one of the lowest rated out there.

I like them all. I've shot many of them and they're all nice. It all boils down to what u can afford. I have a Bushmaster and I love it. What i've come to learn about posting on a open forum and asking people what do they think about this or that is that everyone has they're own taste and opinion. You might have one person that hates Stag and loves olympic Arms or the other way around. I like them all and get what u can afford and you'll love it. Good luck with ur first purchase!

I have READ that you can prevent most problems just by getting a good Bolt Carrier Group.

AR's are just plain fun, I have bought or built with, CMMG, DPMS, EA, Colt, and my buddy has a double star, and I've never had any problems yet with any of them. No matter what you pick, you will love it. Also a gas piston kit addition will minimize maintenance too. have fun, and spend some brass.
