I think people on here are referring to what has he done in his U.S. Senate experience. You refer to a lot of his experience as a state legislator. If you exclude that, theres not much there. Also, he might have authored several bills...but how many of those actually went anywhere? Again remember, I'm not drinking the McCain kool-aid, but I def don't drink the Obama kool-aid either!

Penguin's "facts" clearly come from some Obama campaign information. I found the exact quote from a poster on topix.com. I am certain his facts are correct. What you need to wade through are the bills themselves like the half dozen or so where he introduced a bill to lift the tariff on a certain chemical - one bill per chemical. Or the one where he joined a pile of co-sponsors to express sorrow for the Virginia Tech victims.

One bill that he co-introduced was the Government Transparency Act so called by Obama as the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act. This act was actually co-introduced by 4 senators. Guess what, John McCain was one of them. It was so controversial that 47 senators co-sponsored it and it passed the senate unanimously. He really stepped out on a ledge there. Once you sort through the BS (which I don't really have time to do now) you will find that Obama has made alot of noise, but not really accomplished much.

Penguin, what flavor is that Kool- Aid?

Not sure what flavor that kool-aid is, but I'd wager it has the aroma of something found in a barnyard! Kinda reminds me of that old Cheshe and Chong skit.
    Look, is that horse****? :p

He's only had a term (4 years) in the U.S. senate. Again, if you're going to try and discredit him for most of his work being done on the state level, you need to discredit Bush and Palin. Here is a good read.

"Putting all of this together, here is the best combination of political experience: between one and six years of federal experience, and four to ten years of state experience, for a total of less than 22 years of total political experience. Barack Obama has four years of federal experience and six years of state experience for a total of ten. He is in the best areas in all three categories. John McCain has 26 years of federal experience and zero years of state experience for a total of 26. He is in dangerous areas in all three categories. "

Also, he might have authored several bills...but how many of those actually went anywhere?

2 have been passed since his term began. However, if you want to count bills being passed as the quotient of what makes a good president, you need to look a little deeper.

"Effectiveness is not necessarily related in the quantity of bills passed," he said. "If you look at my case, many of the bills that I ran this year are, by assignment or tradition, majority leader bills" dealing with executive compensation, use of space in the Capitol or matters to be studied during the year. "It's tough to say that indicates effectiveness."

I don't think you read my post, maybe in too much of a hurry to regurgitate some liberal propaganda you heard from somebody else?
Again remember, I'm not drinking the McCain kool-aid...
and I know you've heard me on here before explain that I'm not a fan of the mainstream republicans either.

And seriously, lets say Obama had 20something years of "experience" but still had the same views and positions...he would be just as horrible as a candidate as he is right now. This so called "experience" requirement means JACK to me if the candidate cannot do the simple task of following our constitution. I think its even worse if a candidate has been there longer and gotten away with so much unconstitutionality.

    Ooops

Aides to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin improperly obtained her former brother-in-law's state police personnel files and cited information from those records to raise complaints about the officer, the head of Alaska's state police union said Thursday.

"It's apparent to us that the governor or someone on her staff had direct access to his personnel file, as well as his workers' comp file, and those are protected," said John Cyr, executive director of the Alaska Public Safety Employees Association.

You left out an important detail from the source article:

But the McCain campaign released copies of a February 7 waiver Wooten signed during divorce proceedings that authorized the release of his personnel file, "including but not limited to any and all disciplinary actions and or complaints, and personnel records and actual shift and date worked records."

"Mike Wooten signed a waiver as part of the divorce proceedings, and as a result the information was in the public domain," Griffin, the campaign spokesman, told CNN.

    "Ooops" indeed!

Palin has SO much to hide :mamoru: about this (non)scandal that she has now filed an ethics complaint against herself (source article) which forces an automatic investigation. She also waived the right to privacy, as she wants it to be fully out in the open.

The current investigation witch hunt is headed by Democrat state legislator Hollis French, who, according to ObamaSama's own website, is on record as an ObamaSama supporter.

"Troopergate" is about the best the ObamaSama sycophants can do to attack Palin, and is truly is a non-issue. All the Left will do, as usual, is make as much stink about it as possible, hoping that the accusation, not the facts, will derail Palin. Many think the exact opposite will occur, and the public will see an attractive, appealing woman being demonized, which will gain her even more support.

On a larger level, isn't it interesting how the Leftists and their minions in the media are now obsessed with Palin? All this attention on a VP candidate... Hmmm... Maybe they're just a little afraid of her, ya think? They realize that she is the real deal, and even as a VP candidate, makes ObamaSama look like the empty suit he is.

Palin truly does have the Leftists terrified. Hitlery's supporters are SUPER pissed that ObamaSama completely blew her off as a VP possibility. Some polls indicate as many as 1/3 of them may vote McCain/Palin! Their ecstatic comments about McCain's choice of Palin, and their anger at ObamaSama, can be viewed directly on the Hillary forum itself.

I expect no end of sleaze from the Left, and McCain must continue to run a first-rate, aggressive campaign. For being a douchebag, I must say I'm impressed with his campaign thus far, and his choice of Palin stunned me. I now have a reason to vote for Palin/McCain instead of simply against ObamaSama.

As long as Palin/McCain indeed stick to their guns :mamoru: and barring McCain being caught with a boy, or Palin with a girl, we may very well be looking at a landslide victory come November.

Nothing would be better for the country, or the world. I for one want to see the Socialist defeated, humiliated, and sent crawling back to the Chicago sleaze machine from which he came.

Well-said! You nailed an incredibly important point: Apparently ObamaSama's supporters indeed do not care about the Constitution, as indicated in this recent Rasmussen poll.

    Here is the key excerpt:

While 82% of voters who support McCain believe the justices should rule on what is in the Constitution, just 29% of Barack Obama’s supporters agree. Just 11% of McCain supporters say judges should rule based on the judge’s sense of fairness, while nearly half (49%) of Obama supporters agree.
