What a load of ****. Who the hell rallied behind this stupid law? If they want to stop them from selling milk, on sale, then wal-mart should be closed immediately.

This is retarded, but its ok for walmart to negotiate below average prices. For example I have a friend with a convenience store about a block from a walmart. They both sell the same brand propane, however, walmart is able to sell it retail for cheaper then he buys it wholesale... Our government makes it harder and harder for a small business owner to survive. So much for being for the middle class

    ILLEGAL.

I can't believe these criminals. Trying to sell milk under priced. I hope someone serves some serious time for this crime.

They should pass laws against the entire underground milk crime scene too.

Wal-Mart is the #1 complainer in these type of cases. They get milk the cheapest (Except from Kleinpeter, they won't undersell to Wal-mart and have been on and off the shelf because of it) and pay people to check the milk prices at all competitors EVERY week and send the prices up to corporate.

This doesn't just apply to milk, all dairy products sold in the state, it is to support the Louisiana Dairy Cartel Board.

This law and the many just like it (beer is the same 6% markup) are written by and for the wholesalers to supposedly provide a "level playing field" amongst themselves.

So if you want to blame somebody for these type of stupid laws you now know where to look.

Commissioner Mike Strain doesn't make the laws, he just enforces them. Is his office the one you really want to call and complain to? I think it would be our duly elected liars and theives (State Politicians), who are responsible for these stupid laws.

You ever notice a case of Bud, Coors and Miller are usually the EXACT same price. They fix the wholesale prices on the suitcases and then get the stores to put them "on sale" at 6% over cost.

It's not price fixing if the government does it.

Price fixing violates state and federal competition laws, which prohibits businesses collusion. Business collusion is an agreement between businesses that fraudulently prevents other businesses from being able to compete in the open market. Price fixing violates competition law because it controls the market price or the supply and demand of a good or service. This prohibits other businesses from being able to compete against the businesses in the price fixing agreement, which prevents the public from being able to expect the benefits of free competition. This violation can be implied or express, with minimal evidence needed to prosecute.

Enforcers should be dealt with as well, imo

That is supposedly for "competition" among brands.

The Beer League and liquor wholesalers wrote most of Title 26 yet they will be the first to scream and whine if said laws are enforced.

And I am sure it is the same with milk/insert your favorite product.
