    Louisiana Veterans Festival

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Slidell, LA – November 19, 2013: The East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the creation, and launch of the 2014 Louisiana Veterans Festival. “This event has been created to honor the brave service performed by Louisiana men and women who have sacrificed it all to keep our friends and families safe from harm,” stated Debbie Crouch, Executive Director of the East St. Tammany Habitat affiliate.

Since 2001, conflicts, wars, and peace keeping missions throughout Afghanistan and Iraq have resulted in staggering human costs for military personnel. Thousands of American men and women have lost their lives, while tens of thousands have returned home with physical and psychological wounds. “We can never fully comprehend the losses our military personnel have suffered, but we will honor them and their service,” added Elwin Ordoyne, III, East St. Tammany Habitat Board Chair.

The Louisiana Veterans Festival will be the first of its type in Louisiana. It will be held on May 17, 2014, from 10 am – 10 pm, at the Northshore Harbor and Convention Center in Slidell, LA. Registered with the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals, and the Louisiana Secretary of State, the Louisiana Veterans Festival will bring high level entertainment, interactive technology, festival rides for children of all ages, unique arts and crafts, veteran-themed activities, and much more to be announced in the upcoming months. Volunteers are currently sought to join the Louisiana Veterans Festival Advisory Committee to assist with the implementation and execution of targeted event tasks.

    Sounds good -

My question would be is this a "for profit" festival or do the proceeds from the festival go to fund some type of Veteran's program. If this is the intention than it is awesome.
