Mark III Target Slide Issues

My Ruger Mark III Target is having a little issue. I have only shot about 300 rounds of winchester ammo through it. I bought it new. I can only pull the slide back maybe half an inch. I have taken it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. I did a little research. #8 is what on this page is what I believe is going on. I am sure I could send it back to Ruger if I had to. But I would learn how to resolve my own issues. Many Thanks from a RedNeck!!

Its no big deal if you can take it apart, the hammer strut is not where it needs to be. I would assume you cleaned it and didn't tilt the gun the right way when re-assembling. If this happened without dis-assembly, it might be a little more complicated, but probably still not that bad...

The little dance it shows in the manual is actually necessary, otherwise the hammer strut will miss the mainspring "divot."
