Up for grabs is a Mossberg 144US Military Trainer. The U.S. Government had contracts for these rifles from 1949 to around 1960 and were used by the Army, Navy, Air Force and ROTC as training rifles. With this one having an early 4 digit serial, it was probably issued in the early 1950's.

Rifle is complete and in great shape, has the normal bumps and bruises, bluing is light in some areas. Also pictured is one spot on top of the barrel, I am not sure what is on it, but did not attempt to remove it. But plate has shrunk some, which was common and it comes with one original 7 round magazine.
