Mossy 500 barrel for Mav 88 l2ga?

I have a Maverick 88 (Mossberg) l2ga with a 28" vented bbl. I want to get an l8.5"bbl for it. Will a Mossberg 500 barrel fit in a Maverick? I mean,it's by the same company and it is pretty much a 500 but will the Maverick accept Mossberg barrels?

The Maverick is identical to a standard 500. Length of mag tube should be the same and holds 4+l without the plug. Not sure on the lugs though.

They are identical guns except for a few bells and whistles

I think everything matches up to the 500 except side saddles. I have a 500 18.5 on my 88. Good to go.

I have the model 88 from academy along with the mossy 18.5 inch barrel from academy also, works just fine.

It will work. I did that with my 88 about a yr ago.
