Too cool! Reminds me of a Colt SP-1 that I once owned (with a 4-digit SN). I had bought it in the 70's for $275 which included a bayonet, bipod, 10 mags, and 800 rounds of ammo. When the M16A2's came out I changed out the buttstock, handguards, and flash suppressor, but the original parts all went with it when I sold it around 2001 for $800. Often wondered what happened to it and who has it now.

You might want to change out the silent sling for a nylon M14-type green sling with the buttstock hook on one end and the quick release on the other. That's what My M16 had when I was in Vietnam in 1969. There are also green web-type slings out there but they were designed for the M14 and changed to nylon when the M16s went to Vietnam, as the nylon supposedly didn't deteriorate as much as the web in the high humidity/wet environment. I didn't see any silent slings until I got into the National Guard in the mid 70's, as they gradually replaced the green slings.

Looks great! I have the same upper. But a different muzzle break. Will try to upload pics later.

I'm not sure if my barrel is "correct", its 20", reads FNMI MP 5.56 NATO 1/7.

Buttstock does NOT have a door.

Just need a correct lower. I may have an extra green sling, will check. If not they're easily found online.

Post a link to one if you can please.

You have one of the later barrels. Which is great...i can pretty much only shoot common 55 gr for stabilization purposes.

    Cool build.
I have an M16 buttstock and pistol grip that I have been thinking of doing a retro build with. They aint pretty so my build would have to look well used.

Found you a sling! The good news is that is the correct nylon one with all the metal parts, not any frayed areas, well worn to match your rifle, and free. The bad news is that when I opened the Pelican case that it was stored in, I found that one of the coke cans with Arabic writing that I had brought back from Iraq, had leaked and the attic heat and moisture had caused rust on some of the metal parts, maybe too much for your build. Here's what it looks like -

If you want it, PM your address and I'll put it in the mail.
