You sir are probably smarter than everyone else hunting on top of a tractor. In agricultural areas, they dont seem to pay them any attention and they cover your sent.

    Is that a 1873 Springfield I see?

A few years back I hunted in some corn field on top of a combine the farmer use to leave in the field. I killed more deer than anyone else on the lease. Good idea.

I have a 30 acres field that I cover. I hunt the bottom half of it. Down near the Creek. And the thing about ussing the Tractor if I dont like where I am I can just move. Sit in the bushes or out in the open. Don't ave to walk, just ride.....

Awesome, Wolfgang, great set up. :)

Hurricane Katarina took out my dear stand (tree). So I came up with this. Now all I do is drive down the field, back in the bushes and climb up in my stand. I have my ice chest, food and everything else I might need for the day. When it is time to go to the house, just drive home. If I get a dear I can just put it on the bush hog and carry it home.

Awesome, hunting with an original rifle like that is what the true spirit primitive weapons season is about and any deer you kill with it is a trophy. Hopefully you have a big Hunk o' Lead bullet coming out of that thing and no jacketed or leverloution ammo.

If your deer are like mine they will come running when you crank the tractor up. Any time i do anything in the back they come out to see what is going on. Last year my wife was on the four wheeler and almost took out 4 large does when she came around a large live oak. She stopped about 10 feet from hitting one, they didnt seem to be scared, they just slowly walked to another oak and began eating acorns.

I heard if you keep it running at an evan speed they will come to see what is running. My dad knew a guy that would crank up his lawn tractor and park it by his stand about an hour before he went hunting. He always got one.

Dear are crazy. They don’t assonate you with the tractor. That like using a horse to hunt from. When I belonged to a club near Melville, La. Some of the guys used horses. They could just ride up to the dear. There are in my front yard with my horses.
