Very nice rifle. 6.5x284 is a barrel burner huh? Is 800-1000 rounds about typical for one of those barrels or is it possible to get more.

The ballistics from what I've seen are pretty impressive.

~1000 for 1/4" match accuracy. Probably 3K + for hunting accuracy 1" or so, which is probably more than it will ever see. I got it at a GREAT price, or I could not have afforded it. Couldn't pass it up. It's NIB.

The AMU tosses their 6.5x284 barrels at 600 rounds. Very nice rifle. Super cartridge. I have always wanted to build one, but ended up building a 6.5x55 Swede. I don't hunt enough to justify building another rifle in nearly the same caliber.

    It's a beautiful rifle. Congrats

That is one hell of a nice looking Cooper. Hopefully one day my wife will let me trade her for one!

That is a damn good looking gun.

I remember Cooper taking a huge beating for supporting Obama on his web page. In fact, I think Dan Cooper resigned?

I think he did. I bought this gun primarily because of the wood, and I was planning a build in this caliber, anyway.
