I did half a mile yesterday in 3 minutes. It sucked.

    Anyone here ever row?

I've tried it, but it's more work than it's worth. You can get almost as good of an exercise doing dumbbell rows and cable row at the gym. Only benefit to actual rowing is that you get a lot of cardio, but that's for people who don't want gains.

    To workout I lift weights.

To cardio I lift weights faster.

Yes indeed. Cardio is anything over 6 reps. lol

But rowing really does seem like a good exercise for if you need to work on that. More fun than running, and at least you get an upper body workout too.

I was wondering because I suck at rowing and just can't seem to get better. Maybe I'm just not built to row!

    Or you're doing it wrong.

That's probably it. It's like guys that knee-squat 315, when they should really be practicing good form on 225 or so. Or people that aren't tall enough to reach the pull-up bar, so they do it on the assisted machine thing, whatever that's called.

Hey now! I can jump and grab the highest pullup bar, thank you very much!

As for rowing - being short sucks a lot. I say I'm not that good at it, but I am better than the average person I guess. I'm just not where I want to be and don't seem to be progressing.

    Cry me a river.

The only way you'll get better is by learning proper form and actually doing it.

Go row 5000m and get back to me.

    I'm back.

I gained some weight back and it sucks. I've been running the past few days and it's rough. 10 minute miles aren't cool. Anyway, I'm on a strict diet and hopefully this will get me back into better shape than I was before.
