Need a new tablet

I've narrowed the search down to either a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 or the Microsoft Surface 2. The Surface has a 10.8" screen. Both about the same price. I'm leaning towards the Samsung but would like some input from anyone who has used either.

samsung is the only valid opponent for apple imo. ive got the galaxy tab 10" and threw in a 64g SD card. absolutely love it for work, play, and movies while camping/power outage etc. no experience with the surface2, but Microsoft's tablet history isn't so pretty.

I believe they both have their pros and cons, I love my galaxy tab.

I bought a Microsoft Xoom when they first came out because I didnt want to go with an iPad. Now, I have two iPads and the Xoom is relegated to running Netflix via HDMI to one of my TV's. I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft tablets anymore. Of the two you posted about, Id go with the Galaxy. I hear nothing but good things about them.

I've never been a fan of Microsoft's mobile OSs. I have 7 inch and 10 inch Galaxies that I'm very happy with. The 10 inch has 4G, which is pretty nice. Don't have to be tethered to wifi... Which is probably what people were saying about cat 5 cables when wifi came out...

What type of phone do you have?

I'm a firm believer in getting a tablet to match your phone.

iPhone = iPad
Windows phone = Surface
Android phone = Galaxy Tab

I have a galaxy note 3 phone. I went to the local bestbuy to get some hands on and walked out with a Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The picture on this thing is amazing. Thanks for the suggestions.
