The July meeting for the Northwest Chapter of LOCAL will be held at Tiger Bites at 6:30 PM as discussed at the last meeting. Because the 1st Wednesday falls on Independence Day, we decided to push the meeting back a week to the 11th so as not to interfere with anyone's plans for the 4th.

Carry IS allowed here, both concealed and Open Carry and you may carry or not as you choose. While this is a LOCAL event, you do NOT have to be a LOCAL member to attend. If you don't support Open Carry, that is fine too but we ask that you please respect those who do.

Tiger Bites is JUST down Youree from the IHOP where we have been meeting. It is in the very next strip on the Right after the IHOP on the right. As soon as you cross that little creek/ditch bridge on Youree after IHOP, turn in the very next entry and then right into the parking lot. Tiger Bites is at the end of that small strip of buildings there.

The agenda for the next meeting includes discussing Videoing police stops and we will watch and discuss an OC event Steve R. turned me on to that I am including a link to in this message and I would like us all to watch it.

"Recently a video has been making the rounds of an OCer who was stopped in May in Portland Maine. The OCer was very knowledgeable and took charge of the encounter with police, asserted his rights and was able to get his weapon returned to him and proceed on his way. We thought that this would make a great topic of discussion in how an OCer in La could handle a LEO encounter and what our laws are regarding "Stop & ID" and relevant case law such as Terry V Ohio. In case you haven’t seen the video it can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfdEbe7e9GE ."

Remember, the meeting will be held Wednesday the 11th at Tiger Bites at 8510 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA 71115, (318) 797-4051 and it is just down from IHOP on Youree just at the end of the creek crossing on the right.

We also have the NWLOCAL Shoot and meet on Sunday, July 15 at 8:00 AM at the Bodcau WMA, 168 Ben Durden Rd., Haughton, LA 71037!
